Business Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, recently hosted an arts and essay .petition for underprivileged students and senior citizens under its sister concern, Reliance Foundation Drishti. The winners were selected from over hundreds ofentries, which also included six visually impaired participants.The six winners who were aged between 12 and 64 hailed from New Delhi, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Awarding them with certificates and mementos, Mrs. Ambani praised the participants work saying that they had all succeeded in gifting beauty to the world. She affirmed that such talented and enthusiastic children are one of the most important stakeholders of the future. Stating that the art .petition was celebrating its twelfth anniversary and the essay .petition its eighth, she wished each and every participant for a better future. She thanked the audience for helping her foundation create a cultural movement, called Drishti, which helps underprivileged children by providing education and healthcare to them. Reliance Foundation Drishti also partakes in eye donation. In the past, the organization has successfully funded more than fifteen thousand cornea transplant surgeries in various villages of the country, which is synonymous to its name. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Ambani said, Together, we have helped these people move from darkness to light, and lead a better life with new hopes and aspirations Four years ago, we started India’s first Braille fortnightly in Hindi. Today, our Braille newspaper goes out to sixteen countries. Through this, we are .mitted to empowering the visually impaired with information and knowledge. The publication is one of the many such initiatives by Reliance Foundation. Mrs. Ambani was loud in her voice congratulating the children for their creations which would eventually be distributed around the world through printed literature.
